Forums - Nintendo - NX isn't a console or a handheld console imo

So now we would get more crappy games a week?

Its not going to happen. Nintendo is weird, but they are not idiots.

Hmm maybe but as the old saying goes if ya can't beat em join em and lets face it, Nintendo can't beat apple, Samsung, Sony and Microsoft.  If I was Nintendo I would be liking a chunk of that huge mobile entertainment  business we call Istore and playstore.

They can beat Sony. The 3DS is kicking the Vitas ass.

I think the NX will be a videogame-toaster hybrid. :)

It will play all your NX/WiiU/Wii/GC and N64 games on 1080p/60fps and make very delicious breakfast at the same time. It will be a hit and 10 millions consoles will be sold in the first 3 days of release.

Just you wait, it's gonna be nuts! XD

Without a doubt, but in a industry that has exploded massively in the last few years ( mobile gaming) Nintendo and psvita are well.... last.

But of course they offer vastly better gaming. Seems a shame they aren't selling better.

Why not NES and SNES? I might want me some final fantasy while I wait for breakfast

Downloads only!? Nintendo won't ever produce a Console again IMO they will just become like a new Apple or Kindle fire HD type company!?

No.

Thats really an unfair comparison. Not many people buy a phone for games only. The dedicated handheld market might not be as big as it once was, but its far from dead.

To play NES and Snes games on the NX, you will have to buy the Super juice entertainment system maker add-on.

This peripheral not only play all your favorite NES and SNES games in High definition, but also makes a AMAZING orange juice. :)

I'm tellin' ya, this gonna be good..!

Aren't tablets a declining market?
Also you mentioned in one of your posts that everyone you know already has a tablet. It would be really stupid of Nintendo to try and break into a market that is not only declining but saturated already.

They acknowledged aready that they overestimated the tablet appeal of the wiiU to the casual market because the tablet market grew so rappidly that by the time the WiiU came out tablets were not a major draw anymore. They're not going to try to rectefy that by releasing an actual straight up tablet. The tablet craze went by too fast, and Nintendo was late to the Party. Now no one wants or needs a Nintendo tablet, imo.

Now we might see an NX handheld with a Tablet form factor, but it wil retain buttons and be exactly what they said it would be when they first announced they were working on it: A dedicated gaming system.

No.

They are not giving up with the console market. Sure, they don't sell as much as they would like, but NX is going to be a consle, a handheld and why not, a tablet.

But they'll use the nx handheld as a gamepad for the console. That's what I think they are going to do.

The wii u's gamepad is horrible. When I play a lot my hands hurt, not joking. The thing is bulky, heavy and uncomfortable. And it was a very bad decision. They couldn't sell it to the market because they had no games that justified it and I have read a lot of complaints from gamers that hated the gamepad, even hardcore nintendo fans.

The best thing they could do is release a console powerful enough (maybe close to the ps4) with a wii u pro controller. And then give the option to use the nx handeld like the wii u gamepad to everyone who loved it.

That way people would have more options and the console wouldn't have a gimmick like the gamepad was.
It's a win/win situation! :P
