Btw. you should watcher Super Bunnyhops video on the game, I found myself agreeing with a lot of what he said (after what little I played)

Correct. It's not like I'm on my way to Gamestop to trade the game just because it tarnishes everything related to Metal Gear. It's just a game with excellent gameplay and poor narrative and story. I really don't know if this will be the last we'll see from the series, but if Konami really wants to keep the franchise, why not remake the MG and MG2? They have the Fox Engine, they have the resources made from TPP... why not tie up the story from the last game and finish it with the real story behind Outer Heaven and Zanzibarland?

It really is one of the most needless and worst handled plot twist in the series. I mean, people figured it out when the game was announced. |
I've seen couple youtubers posted their own theories last year(or earlier), I thought they're crazy.

A sizeable piece of the fanbase spotted the twist as soon as the debut trailer came out in 2013, with each trailer it became more apparent and even more with Ground Zeroes.
Hell, the opening of the game gives the twist away!!!

I just can't get over the ending, having beaten the game just two hours ago. Seriously, I have the strong feeling that the game should have either concluded on the first act, with the "revenge" thingy and Huey screaming like an idiot after killing Zero, or just plain and simple do something different. The way it is, the massive retcon and all that, it just makes me feel like the plot was the most unnecesary thing ever. There's Zero explanations here, Liquid running around with the most powerful Metal Gear ever conceived, Kaz spitting Big Boss EXCLUSIVELY because he didn't told him his plan, not because he realized he's a killer, Ocelot just...uh, being around, and a second Big Boss that creates a second Outer Heaven but that gets destroyed and no one ever brings that up again.

Boss, that's an enemy gunship.
"You're going to extract him?" - Mission objective is extracting him.
I'm glad you guys are tagging spoilers since I haven't beaten it yet, but I have heard Chapter 2 is just 1 with modifiers. Very disappointing. My biggest problem is the checkpoint sucks; one little mistake and you lost everything you extracted from the mission.

The game doesn't really have an ending though, you just get a pointless plot twist and then it keeps going, there's no second Outer Heaven either, Venom creates the only one there ever is.
Sparse checkpoints are also a good thing in the game, it raises the stakes, its not as if the game isn't already too easy.

Yeah, that's another thing. It's totally pointless. I felt disappointed with it.
There's at least the neat touch that you can now play as yourself.
Another thing I couldn't get over the whole time I was playing the game was.......
Who the hell is this dude claiming to be Ocelot? Cus he sure as shit has fuck all to do with the Ocelot portraid in every other MGS. Seriously. Every single time he popped up and opened his mouth I was like "WHO ARE YOU?!"
What happened to all the quirkiness and arrogance?
Instead some cool, calm, master of torture but idealist "kill nobody, let them parade around motherbase" moron takes his place. Wtf?

This is the only explanation I can give you:
