Always wanted to try this series. However I've never really been into SRPGs. The only SRPG I love is Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time

That's, uh, far more niche than Disgaea and most would qualify it as harder to get into. Why don't you try some more!

Huh? I disagree completely. Growlanser is waaay more streamlined and easier to get into. Growlanser has a typical JRPG structure, with the only out of the ordinary being its battle system.

Does it have a similar style? Because no SRPG works quite like Growlanser does from what I've found v.v XD it has a world to explore and more freedom than most SRPGs v.v the majority I see play more along the lines of FF Tactics where 90% of the game is battle after battle x.x

I didnt want to be mister correcte, but Growlanser is not a SRPG in same sense as Fire Emblem, FF Tactics, Disgaea. Its a typical JRPG structure but  with a Realtime strategy battle system.

It's always listed as a SRPG thats why I call it one XD

GREAT NEWS, i love Disgaea hope it sells well, i wanna get it day one but i dont know if im gonna be able to...

One of the more humorous things about reviews is when someone reviews a game where they really don't like the game-play or the style. I mean, it's like someone giving chess a 7/10 because they think it's tedious and they don't like the grind.

Personally, I play SRPGs for the game-play, the same way I play chess for the game-play. If you don't feel the same then I don't understand why you would review an SRPG to begin with.

Yea, I figured that. They group it like that because the meat of the game is a SRPG but Growlanser has waaay more in common with a typical JRPG than it does with Disgaea, FFT, FE.

I wouldn't recommend you a Fire Emblem or Final Fantasy Tactics if all you were looking for something like Growlanser.

Yeah, always wondered why I could never find a SRPG quite like it

Does it have the same content and DLC as the jap version? I'll wait for the definitive, portable edition.

They do exist, but Growlanser is a fusion of a lot of RPG elements. Did play any of the previous Growlanser titles?
