Never.
PS3 will stay on top in ww with about 75-80k in Eu/Others and another 16-18k in Japan. I don't think 360 numbers with Japan and Eu/Others combined will top 60k tbh, pricecut be damned.
i think that this week only the 360 will beat the ps3 only because of the price drop. i know ive been waiting until a price drop to get a 360 so i can get an extra game. but then next week ps3 will win again.
the nintendo wii will outsell the ps3 and the 360 combined by the end of 2008.
PS3 will out sell the 360 june 2010.
GOTY of 2008 is super smash brothers brawl.... hopefully.
END OF 08 PREDICTIONS:
Wii: 45 million xbox360: 26 million PS3: 19 million (made beginning of 08)
wii: 44 million xbox 360: 24 million PS3: 21 million (made june 08)
wii code: 8094-5344-2140-1400
| Reasonable said: I don't think the price cut will be enough as Japan will obviously go to PS3 while the US difference is only showing as approx 5K. So no, I think WW PS3 will still squeak past 360. Personally I think the PS3 would gain bigger boost than 360 from price cut but it seems Sony is content to wait and see at the moment rather than drive more sales via another price move. |
I agree, I think the PS3 would benefit a lot more from a price cut than the 360, I still expect the PS3 to outsell the 360 WW this week, next week might be a lot tighter however.
And it's not that I don't think Sony is just sitting and waiting, what I think is happening is, Sony is probably making a profit on each PS3 sold now, so they are probably waiting on a price cut until costs go down to where they can cut the PS3 to $299 without having to sell it at a loss. They have already lost a lot of money with the PS3 and now it's time to make all that money back.

Will be interesting to see the long term effects of the 360 price cut in Others.
...
Price cut was only in effct for 2 days..isnt that right? Plus in some places in eu price cut didnt kick in till today(monday)
