Forums - Sales - Destiny: The Taken King: Most Downloaded Game on Day One in PS History (More Players Than Launch, NO HYPE)

Oh yeah, that came out didn't it? I give it a couple weeks until it dies again, unless Bungie released the Destiny I was hoping for last year this time around, then I give it a month or two.

Destiny never died... it was haters thinking gamers didn't like the game.

To be fair it increased userbase month after month.

I played it today, its, as far as I'm concerned, what destiny should have been all along.
I like the changes, I just don't like the money it cost to get it there.

Hmmm, I thought it would peter out of popularity, but perhaps not. I'm not sure Destiny 2 will be bigger though. ALOT of people who bought because of Bungie/Halo and the Hype just didn't like it. The extortionate dlc pricing hasn't lost Destiny too many fans but I'm not sure how they're going to grow the userbase significantly.

PS, PS2, Gameboy Advance, PS3, PSP, PS4, Xbox One

Damn. Activision raking in that dough!

So I take it that whatever plans they had for releasing the game on PC have been dropped now? I suppose 60fps and M+KB wouldve been a bit unfair, but it still kinda blows that I won't be able to play it.

I read that a lot in this forum but more and more people likes and are playing the game.

Maybe... just maybe... these a lot of people that didn't like it is only anedoctal.

I watched the userbase evolve and it seemed to get smaller as time went on, so I'd like a source on that one. There were a good amount of people literally addicted to it but outside of that group there wasn't much casual play. I never saw any middle ground outside of that group of casual CoD players who transferred over to Destiny - which is likely where most of the acrive userbase came from. My roommate last year was one of the addicts, and he even fizzled out for a while in between the add-ons. He was really bad about it when he was addicted though; he ended up with like a 1.something gpa because he'd stay up so late to play and then never go to classes.

Which brings me back to: if Taken King is what the base game should've been, there's a good chance it'll establish a userbase that stays between DLCs without fizzling out so quickly.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

IGN is liveplaying the raid that just went up now. Hopefully the reviews that were waiting on this content will go live in the next few hours.

My sister plans to get another PS4 (after her husband and her have me their PS4 as a Xmas present) we will definitely come back to destiny and get the taken king. I'm ready to hope back into eestiny.
