So is MS paying for the titles in a manner that the break even for the studio is 0 units sold? If not staying exclusive will only mean loss to them.

edit: Ok, the first game at least is nothing like a strategy RPG. its a static 2D art traditional RPG game. Perhaps the sequal will evolve into some FE clone. The art looked alright at least.

Yeah, the first Students of the Round was a gridder. Experience Inc. have never made anything other than first-person RPG's.

iirc, the original launched on PC, then was ported to 360 then ported to PSP.

Interestingly, if Students of the Round 2 does come to XB1, it'll be the first time they've developed an original title for Microsoft. Everything they made previously for 360 was ports of PC titles. Demon Gaze was the first time they actually developed a title for consoles which wasn't a PC port first.
