Forums - Nintendo - Star Fox Zero director comments on the game’s visual style

I rather have 60 FPS than good graphics.

But games than run at 60fps with detailed visuals are much better. Star Fox Zero does not deliver with the latter, and not because it has bad graphics, but because it's uninspired, flat, boring, bland. It wouldn't be a big deal for me if the game at least had better enemy design.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

30fps is like a slideshow for this game, it was either ditch the gamepad or have it 60fps.

What's the obsession with 60fps. I'm sure no one mentioned it during 5th,6th and 7th gens.

I've heard so many people say that this looks like Star Fox 64 visually.

Why not both? I still have a feeling that overall the game will look great and it will be a surprise hit all in all. Lets hope for the best

You can't have both when you are running low hardware specs

I prefer this honest answer of: we need two have both screens at 60fps so we sacrificed graphics

instead of: every realistic game looks the same and we are trying to break that

the second comment is just plain wrong and ignorant. Since when does metal gear solid V looks like far cry? And I suppose he thinks skyrim looks like Call of Duty

I agree. A lot of games look alike. Even though they may look good, as an designer it is a big "no no" to have everything look the same in your designs. I see where he's coming from.

I like the honest answer about the dual screens and 60 fps but he didnt need to be arrogant towards other games...

There is still massive amount of art and technical talent that goes into these "realistic" looking games

A lot of games look alike to those who don't play such games. Can you at least give examples of such cases?
