Forums - Microsoft - Hideki Kamiya hopes Scalebound’s depth means you’ll play it more than Okami or Bayonetta

- Hideki Kamiya talked to Edge magazine about how big is Dragon May Cry Scalebound in comparison to Okami and Bayonetta, and what it offers in comparison to those games:

"Bayonetta can be seen as a shorter cycle game – you may want to go back and hone your skills a bit more, or you might be so satisfied that you’ve completed it that that can be the end of it,"

"Same goes for a game like Okami. Now, with Scalebound, because the world is so large, my hope is that [players won’t just] go from beginning to end and that’s it. There are so many [side-quests] that we’re going to be sprinkling throughout this vast world that I hope you’ll go back to dungeons and pick up items that weren’t available to you at that time, and want to clear it in a different way."

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

I only play something that has at least 30fps, not 15-20fps like Scalebound.

When i get the bone this holiday ill get the game next year. It looks really nice.

There is still time to polish the fps.

I really hope subsequent gameplay shows the game better. I was so excited when this game was announced but the first gameplay trailer was really bad...

Fingers crossed that it was just a bad showing.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Okami's length/format is nothing like that of Bayonetta...

Yeah, that's strange. Bayonetta, I get. It's a mostly linear hack-and-slash game. But Okami is in the same vein as Zelda.

In any event, I'm glad to hear this about Scalebound. Side quests, dungeons, large world to explore? Sign me up.

60fps or give me death.
I so wanna go to Steam Green Light Program forums and bash some of them because they don't run at all times at least @30fps.

So basically, until this generation, you pretty much hated every single game because for the last 40 years, arcade and console gaming has pretty much always been under 60FPS.

Based on the combat we seen? Probably not Kamiya, unless what was shown was incredibly bare bones.
