Valve has changed how other devs make FPS games both times they've released HL (first time in good, 2nd in not so good way, IMO).

Although I think they became quite lazy, I still think they are only one that can make another HL that can compare with the first two...so no, I don't see any other dev being even remotely capable of pulling it off.

Anyay i fail to see how it would be a nice feather "In Sonys" cap??. And also i know some people think its the cool thing to hate on big franchis's etc. But Half life 2 wouldnt of got to be one of the most highest rated and well thought of games in the industry if it was as bad as you seem to think it is.

And this is coming from a massive FPS fan (Just look at my Sig and see my raptor profile) whos first FPS was Doom on a snes mind you #(Didnt have a PC at the time) but i made sure to get a PC for Quake .


Wow. Just because someone disagrees with you, it does not mean he/she is on either side of any fence. Its called an opinion.

And yes, just like MGS, GT, Halo, Gears and Pokemon, HL is one overrated franchise, that stole a whole bunch of ideas from other games and slapped a fresh coat of paint. Deal with it. Doom... now that is one FPS that I can stand behind, when it comes to the beneficial creative boost it gave to the industry, when it comes down to gameplay.

Yes the is disagreing with someone and having an opinion and then the is taking a sly jab at someone such as this "Maybe if you never played a FPS before"

has two meanings its both stating something as fact by trying to say the game is bad and making it look like a person is stupid if they like it.

But if that wasnt enough You had to continue to state your opinion as fact and make it look like a person really shouldnt like HL when you said "please ND, dont waste your time with HL3, bring us more quality titles ASAP" yet HL2 at its time of release was much higher rated then any of the Uncharted games, and thats a fact going by ratings. in my own opinion i love the Uncharted games just as much as i love the Half life games.

And then you continue to make it look like i had no reason for saying "Its clear what side of the field you play on" when your the one who said "But it would be a nice feather on Sony's cap " . when this has nothing to do with Sony.. And also the way you have been dismissing what i been saying in that PC thread without a bit of proof. I bet if i went though your post id find you in many pc threads giving sly jabs.. But yes i only said what i said cos you disagreed with me and no other reason -_- ..


That is true, and you will find plenty, as I hate the curent state of PC game distribution and all the freemium crap the market is flooded. What you will find on the other hand is a lot of prasing for companies like Creative Assembly, 4A, Valve (see Portal), Blizzard (see their former selves), DICE and many, many more...

And this has nothing to do with Sony? You have to be trolling. Or you think that there is a chance that Naughty Dog goes 3rd party?

I enjoyed HL2 but let's be honest, we only care about the story.

This is not true at all.

If Valve were to give any other developer the chance to develop HL3 and it ended up being terrible, it would only just turn into "Why didn't Valve make the game themselves they fucked it up by giving it to another developer" so they would still get blamed. 

Also I disagree with this entirely, I wouldn't want a HL3 developed by any company other than Valve. Portal 2 released back in 2011 and it is one of the greatest games ever made, so they do still have the amazing talent of making single player games.

Honestly I think they fear HL3 will be a huge let down like Duke Nukem was to fans after such along wait.

Not at all, Half Life 2 is brilliant because it´s gameplay, the story is interesting too, but nothing close to the level of insane fun that the gameplay has to offer.
