Forums - Gaming - 3rd party Half Life 3 Outsourcing

It's their dumb fault. Just because Valve can do no wrong. They did. If they had no intention of making a half life 3. Or ep3. You don't end on a cliff hanger. You resolve it. What was the point of the ending to Ep2. They basically pulled a Fox TV cancellation. That was their biggest mistake. And should of altered the ending. Hell, if they really have no intention of ever doing a pay off. Alter ep2, and have an ending DLC. Then burry the series. It's a waste of peoples time, all around.

Maybe Machine Games or Flying Wild Hog

Eh, Half-Life 2 is overrated either way, making an improved sequel can't that much harder, the problem is giving the people some revolutionary shiz so it is praised to heaven.

Hahahaha Half Life 2 was far from over rated. It was a mind blowing experiance when it first released.

Maybe if you havent played a single FPS before...

OT: please ND, dont waste your time with HL3, bring us more quality titles ASAP :D  But it would be a nice feather on Sony's cap

I dunno, I know that it was a very ground-breaking game when it released, but playing last year just felt wierd, it was a good game, but nothing that I would consider amazing, I think that HL2 suffers from FF7 syndrome, in which the impact that the game had in the industry is bigger than the game itself, and that leads to over-hype, and that leads to disappointment.

I'm now filled with determination.

Nd would make it glorious

REQUIESCAT IN PACE

I Hate REMASTERS

I Hate PLAYSTATION PLUS

No one could do it justice, not Naughty Dog and not even Valve themselves. They were miles ahead of the competion in 2004 and the fans will expect the same from HL3, but that won't be possible.

Hahaha jeez i guess no point in hiding what side of the field you play on, No wonder you have been replying the way you have in my other thread..

Anyay i fail to see how it would be a nice feather "In Sonys" cap??. And also i know some people think its the cool thing to hate on big franchis's etc. But Half life 2 wouldnt of got to be one of the most highest rated and well thought of games in the industry if it was as bad as you seem to think it is.

And this is coming from a massive FPS fan (Just look at my Sig and see my raptor profile) whos first FPS was Doom on a snes mind you #(Didnt have a PC at the time) but i made sure to get a PC for Quake .

Wow. Just because someone disagrees with you, it does not mean he/she is on either side of any fence. Its called an opinion.

Here is its definition:

"opinion

noun opin·ion ə-ˈpin-yən

: a belief, judgment, or way of thinking about something : what someone thinks about a particular thing

: advice from someone with special knowledge : advice from an expert

: a formal statement by a judge, court, etc., explaining the reasons a decision was made according to laws or rules"

And yes, just like MGS, GT, Halo, Gears and Pokemon, HL is one overrated franchise, that stole a whole bunch of ideas from other games and slapped a fresh coat of paint. Deal with it. Doom... now that is one FPS that I can stand behind, when it comes to the beneficial creative boost it gave to the industry, when it comes down to gameplay.

Half Life was legendary at its time for trying new things and revolutionizing the concept each time.

ND isn't going to be enough. Try ND-343-Nintendo alliance.

Neil Druckmann must be joking. Does he really think that no AAA developer would turn down the chance? Quite the opposite! Who would like to take the responsibility of making that games knowing the hopes and incredibly high expectations for that game? Even in the remote case of it being good, it would be like Duke Nukem Forever with everybody saying how it's not good enough, innovative enough, how Valve could have done it better, etc.

It would be a disaster... and that's why Valve isn't making it. The know they can't life up to the expectations people have for the game.
