Forums - General - How many VG Chartz members listen to Rush Limbaugh and/or Shawn Hannity?

@ Kazadoom, You're a Libertarian I bet untill someone is doing something that opposes you're religious views. Then you're all for government intervention.

Superchunk- Rush is not part of the religious right. I doubt the man is even religious at all except for thinking God and Jesus are real. I am not saying he is good or I agree with him, but calling him religious right or even ultra conservative is not correct. Ultra conservative is like the Constitution Party.

Ahh, see this might be where I was wrong. I have never really watched/listen to there shows on any sort of regular basis, so my knowledge of them and their views is mostly 3rd hand. I thought they were part of the overwhelming religious right in the Republican party, the part I really dislike.

If they are not, then I just don't agree w/ them and don't listen. If they are then down with them.

For me the religious/Christian right in this country is no different than the "enemies" we have in extreamist Islam. Its just first steps in that direction really. I mean do any of you really think Islam has always been extreme like this? If you don't know then the answer is no. This form of Islam has only been around for a very short time, relatively speaking. It started out as small things like bashing gays showing modesty in public forums; and then turned into you must have beards and women cannot be seen at all, over about 100 years.

To me, Rush and Hannity and others like that are mearly the first steps in the re-awakening of Christian Extreamism.

So can you please name me all the suicide bombings that have taken place in the USA since we were a nation. Such statements that the religious right are the same as the Islamic terrorists is not only rediculous, but completely baseless. Name conservative Christians who are out slaughtering and murdering innocent people in the name of God, come on. And the idea that this form of islam is new is so lacking in historic knowledge that it is not even funny. Are you even aware of what the Koran teaches? The islamic terrorists are only doing exactly what they are told to do in the Koran. Where do you get your information?

There was a time, not all that long ago, when bombing abortion clinics or murdering doctors who performed abortions were all the rage and I don't remember Islamic fundamentalists having anything to do with it.

LOL! I didn't know Libertarians were communists! LOL! So does that make Neal Boortz a Communist too?

Nah,  Neal Boortz isn't really a Libertarian, anyway.  I am pretty sure he is not a member of the Libertarian Party but just an independent guy that likes a lot of libertarian ideas and so he calls himself a libertarian.  Neal Boortz does support the government giving all of the basic needs to every American through the Fair Tax, a plan which he is of the most well known supporters of so he is a little bit communist.  I think he even co-wrote a book about it or something.

Someone didn't like Clinton so they did a suicide bombing on the Whitehouse, I think.  They tried to crash their plane into it.

Yes he wrote the book with John Linder and the sequel to it also. I don't see how that makes him Communist though... the FairTax is the opposite of Communism by a long shot. And yes, he is a registered Libertarian. He announced it with some weeks ago that he sent in his check for the lifetime membership to the Libertarian Party. The only thing he disagrees with the party over is the War on Terrorism.

And can you name the conservative Born Again Christians responsible, or name the amount of innocent people killed in those bombings.  Plus, name one Christian that condones that activity unlike the killings that are heralded by Muslim Terrorists.  This attempt at a comparison is nothing of the sort, you are comparing something that was very rarely done and not at all accepted or preached to something that happens all the time and is commanded and rejoiced over.

That plane crash was a complete accident and in no way is at all compared to suicide bombings whatsoever.

I don't know the names of the victims so somehow those actions are invalidated? Er...

There were plenty of batshit crazy Christians who cheered on those bombings and murders. There are insane fundamentalist segments of every major religion. Most Christians are peaceful, just as are most Muslims. Let's not confuse the tenants of the majority of the religion in favor of the extremists who murder people. You seem to have a very skewed view of the Muslim religion.

Some of the things they (Rush & Hannity) talk about makes sense, like America was founded on Personal responsibility, compassion and pure hardwork which they equate to the government staying off our backs (small government). These days you can't even tell a conservative from a liberal they are all the same, they both scream and yell for gov. handouts (bailouts). Whatever happened to hardwork to provide for yourself. Hitting rock bottom actually makes you stronger, government running deficits to enable bad behaviour is just troubling.

I forget who the comedian was but he had great line, "I'll take Christian fundamentalists over Islamic fundamentalists any day, they're both crazy but at least the Christians won't cut your fucking head off".
