Forums - Gaming - Do you buy indie games?

I generally don't like the direction Western Indies take. Oh, but they can be fun, too. I was blown away by Stealth Inc. 2, though I got that for free!

On the other hand, I'd actually support doujin circles if I could.

I... I... I confess. Yes... yes, I do it. But it's only occasionally. Please let me keep my gamer's card.

it makes me so happy to see you say that!!

OT - i buy a lot of indies. especially puzzle games, thats probably my favorite genre.  i find myself buying less indies at the momement though due to ps+.  i love it,.. ps+ gives me most of the games i wanted to buy.  my backlog is massive.  if ps+ goes back to giving away AAA titles i'll probably go back to buying loads of indies and largely ignoring AAA releases.

Im not nostalgic about the 8-Bit Era even thou i started gaming on the NES, so those indies that have similar style i just completely ignore them.

Like everything, there are some great indie games and there are some shitty ones. I think that the balance is tilted to the shitty ones, but you can always find some gems.

One of my favorite games of 2014 was Transistor. I just cant compliment this game enough, i would rate it a 10 out of 10.

I hope Sony buys SuperGiant Games and give them a blank check LOL

Indies are the only games I buy full price on steam, but I rarely ever buy indie games overall.
Most of the time I don't even waste my bandwith with ps+ ones as i know I'm not interested in artsy games or mario the hardcore-er edition.

Yes i buy indies that have a physical release.
Iam enjoying indie games a lot more than the so callrd tripple a games(except for some)

And my indie physical collection is outpacing the bigger retail games.

I only buy disc released games, I have not seen many indies that reach that status, but I am already ready to buy Shovel Knight next month and a few others that had been announced.

I have a few. My favorite is Umihara Kawase

I buy Indies and some of them have beem among the most fun games I've played. That being said I tend to buy well known quality Indies like The Binding of Isaac, Super Meat Boy, Bastion, Transistor, Shovel Knight, Runner and Runner 2, Don't starve etc...
Among the smaller ones I've bought and liked are Legend of Dungeon and Machinarium.

Only four. If you want to still count Minecraft, the journey pack, and when the physical copy of Shovel Knight comes out.

It will be a sad day indeed if / when Sony starts putting old AAA titles instead of brand new indies on PS+.
