Forums - Microsoft - Ubisoft hints at future Xbox One backwards compatible games

This BC is so elegantly announced by MS. They have been great at pitching this as a way of making every old game seem like a fresh new release, and they are really showing how Nintendo should have worked with BC. I hope this will turn out to be succesful among consumers.

You prefer this piecemeal release 2 years after launch to full BC from day 1 including full controller support and no need to download the game or running into performance problems? MS shows they know how to market things, yet Nintendo simply delivers. Sounds like Stockholm syndrome, so nice of Ubisoft to give access to some of your old games, while Nintendo is dumb for giving you 100% on day 1 without making a fuss about it.

Funny how the original BC announcement sounded like almost every game should work just like that, and the exceptions would be somewhat are or up to the publishers. Now it's starting to seem like most games not being playable on Xbox One and instead only certain games getting BC. Or maybe I just misunderstood the original announcement. Either way, this is a slightly disappointing way to go at it.

I see it as pretty good, actually. Not only do you get people excited the first time thinking all their xb360 games will work on xb1, but you have websites posting articles about companies merely thinking about making certain games BC compatible. MS couldn't have done a better job even if they'd tried. Constant free advertising. Poor Ninty on the other hand, gets no credit.

Anyway, I don't see it as disappointing at all.

Yeah, can't really argue about this being good for MS. They've really managed to pull this off very well, even if the BC may not be as good as I originally thought.

Everyone that buys X1 in November onwards will have it day 1, I don't know what the fuss is about.

Additionaly, does Nintendo publishes high profile 7th gen games on VC as well?

Ubisoft hyping their games. Then after everyone gets hyped about the games they want BC for, Ubisoft will say, "we are feeling generous, we made them all BC!" Then they win our love once again. Trying to make up for Jade Raymond 😍😘

Apparently they do. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-01-14-mario-galaxy-2-metroid-prime-trilogy-headed-to-wii-u-eshop
I'll use my discs though.

Everyone that buys X1 in November onwards will have some BC day 1. It's in the thread title, hints at future bc titles.

Where did I say that I wouldn't want this from day one? I just said MS has done it smarter and more elegant than Nintendo. I love my WiiU but the way Nintendo has worked makes me extremely angry: So I bought the basic WiiU and downloaded Metroid prime. Now tell me how I am supposed to play the game?

I should've added 3rd party high profile games.

"Everyone that buys X1 in November onwards will have BC day 1, of the games allowed to be that way by their respective publishers."

Luckily, unfortunately for some, most high profile publishers are up on the wagon to enforce Stockholm Syndrome on the less fortunate that couldn't keep a X360.

FYI: I installed Kameo on my X1, using a disc.

It looks like i will get a bone very soon

I Hate PLAYSTATION PLUS

That's great. Now all I want is for Ubisoft to offer a service like EA access and I will be happy.
