Forums - Gaming - What you don't like about Nintendo

First of all yes, I chose this section on purpose so that I can have answers both from Nintendo and non-Nintendo fans.

I've always been an outspoken person, if I don't like something I simply explain my problem, I don't try to hide it only because of my loyalty. This obviously isn't the only reason why I opened this topic, I did it because Ninteno as a company conscious of having failed with Wii U needs to start thinking about what they did wrong as a company or simply what customers didn't enjoy in what they did. So could n't there be a better whay than asking directly [sad cit. :c] to the customers, isn't it ?

PLEASE READ BEFORE COMMENTING: There will be people with different opinions, so keep in mind that YOUR idea has the SAME value of EVERYONE else. Try to not act or sound aggressive and comment trying to improve your own ideas, without forcing them to other  people.

So this is what I don't like with Nintendo:

1-In 2015 many games still don't get worldwide releases;

2-Nintendo is extremely stubborn, even if it can be considered good in some cases, in most of them they only lose good opportunities;

3-They keep releasing 3 to 5 Mario games every year, which would be acceptable since it's their mascotte, if not only that they have some IPs that don't get new entries from decades;

4-Nintendo's Creators Program; ok it's not only the NCP, it's the fact that Nintendo is SOOOOOOOO slow at changing the most basic things, just look at Club Nintendo.

And you ? what don't you like about Nintendo ?

Region Locking. Its my only gripe.

NoA, All decisions centered in japan, and constant fear of making investiments on trends.

"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

Basically, NoA. That's what I dislike. They suck. Their marketing blows, they don't work hard enough at bringing games from Japan over and they don't seem to have any faith in their own products.

I do however like Nintendo as a whole. They make great games, good systems and from my experiences have fairly good customer service. They also seem to be the last of the console manufacturers that are in it to make their customers happy and in doing that, build their business that way.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

The only thing i dont like about Nintendo is that they dont listen to the consumers.

I don't like how strict they are with youtubers uploading videos of their games. I mean, they have the right to but it's free publicity.

I honestly think they need to expand development team, especially on outside of Japan.

NOA, NOE, NAL, and NOK. Only NOK have something resembling development team. They should bring talents from all over the world to make more games.

My biggest gripe is region locking.

A lot of things, honestly.

Region locking, not pushing for strong online features, their policies with YouTube, and not being able to properly stock products like amiibo,

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."
