I'd like to have seen that post. That's some extreme optimism there.
OT: Great sales, albeit perhaps a bit underwhelming given that this game is available to much more people than its predecessor was.
not so impressed? MGS4 came out in 2008 on ps3 when digital destrubition werent avaible and when the ps3 had no segnificant exclusives, in fact only like last year they released mg4 on the PSstore. MGS5 allready outsold the witcher 3 on day 1 and digital sales should ad 20-30+%.
5 platforms what does it matter, most people moved on to new consoles or PC.
And lets not forget Ground Zeroes sold 2 million so its 5 million now
Decent sales I suppose, difficult to say more without some accompanying sell-through data.

Technically we don´t know yet wether the fanbase has become fractured or not. Personally I expect the PS4 version to sell roughly the same as MGS4 when all is said and done.

OK WTH guys!!???? MGS games, no matter what, will not be selling any more than they always have been. Which is pretty much 6-7 million copies at its PEAK! You guys REALLY think this was just suddenly supposed to sell upwards of 10+ million copies??? I don't think so. MGS has its die hard fans and there's too much story for newcomers to suddenly jump on board.
MGS games have sold consistently throughout the years. ALL of the games pretty much sell the exact same amount of copies every time.
This will be no different. It will sell 6-7 million like usual. And that's GREAT!
5 platforms means nothing since everyone will be getting it on the PS4 anyway - like always.
Is this REALLY surprising to anyone??? Come on...

What does it matter? did mgs4 had a demo which sold 2 million copies for 40 bucks like groundzeroes did? 5 Million copies sold MGS5 phantom pain and grounzeroes together, the game was allready profitable.

all of these assertions are oponions and have no merit or basis in reality. You made that up. It mean that they shipped 3 million units and nothing more. We already know that it sold out in Japan at sine retaukers,,, so it could be said that they undershipped.
