Well, they started today (17th March) and run until 25th March at various venues throughout the UK (see below):

  • Region 1 - Gamestation Edinburgh
  • Region 2 - HMV Edinburgh
  • Region 3 - Zavvi Glasgow
  • Region 4 - Currys.digital Birmingham
  • Region 5 - Blockbuster Welling
  • Region 6 - GAME Notthingham
  • Region 7 - HMV London
  • Region 8 - Zavvi London
  • Region 9 - HMV Manchester
  • Region 10 - Zavvi Manchester
  • Region 11 - HMV Leeds

Seeing as I'm based in Glasgow, I will try and get along this week to Zavvi.  I wonder if it's the Buchanan Street store or the Argyll Store...hopefully Buchanan...it's the bigger.

Anyway, has anyone managed to get to this today and can we have some reports of what's going on and what their thoughts are on the game and setup?

Glad they're pushing it. They need something to overshadow the 360 price drop and GT is a huge franchise here.

Okay, just back from the Zavvi Glasgow event (Buchanan Street).

There are two people there...a girl donning all the read (Lewis Hamilton) atire and a guy with the black gear on and cap.  Nice folk.  Well there wasn't a queue of people wanting to race though...just me...so I got on the seat and tried Gran Turismo for the first time ever.

You are racing around the London track and are in a White Mini.  You get a practice chance then the proper race...I got a ridiculous 2min36sec....so not that great.

Anyway, the good stuff....after your finished, you fill out an entry card and then get a goodie bag with:

  • T-Shirt (PS2 one for some bizarre reason)
  • A PS3 promotional brochure
  • A GT5Prologue flyer for the game
  • A SingStar flyer for the game
  • And a GT Keyring shaped like a wheel with the GT logo on the other side...nice!!
