Forums - Sony - Awesome new Dreams PS4 Create tools footage - Media Molecules ‘Dreams’ PS4 Thread

Dream's demo from e3 really impressed me, though I honestly had no idea what it was, but I do look forward to learning more about it.

Thank you for making this thread. I'm really excited to see more of this game and I'm confident MM will offer a great experience with this.

No prob :) I hope to improve it closer to Paris Games Week, but if i've missed any news, please be sure to tell me :)

I haven't been as excited for a games possibilities in a long time.

I have a feeling that no matter what is released, it's not going to live up to my hype.

MM has a great track record for creativity. LBP and Tearaway are great properties and critically acclaimed. However we can also see that the commercial success of MM games is on a downward trajectory even though critically they have only gone from strength to strength.

I'm confidant Dreams will be creatively and aesthetically brilliant. But I have my doubts about it from a commercial standpoint. It sounds like a game I will admire from a distance, which might be the approach a lot of people take.

I wonder if it intends to have a campaign or something similar, though I don't know how they would approach that.

If it doesn't and the game's pretty much just an artsy, 3-D game maker, I sincerely hope that they aim for a significantly lower price point. If it's good, I may buy it (I am not a particularly big Media Molecule fan, to be honest), but only if it has a lengthy and well-designed "campaign" or if it's priced at 30 or 40 dollars.

It has the potential if marketed right. Give it a beta, stick it in the hands of youtubers, get press coverage over the fact that this game does things undone in gaming and tech ever. Youtubers could have huge influence over the minecraft generation, and if creation is as easy as they promise, it should be easy to capture any tech-savvy kid. Like LBP, playing the levels will be fun for the family, and being MM's next big thing, I have no doubt it will include some form of coop.

It's sorta a given that MM will create multiple levels with their tools to show off the game, similar to lbp. It's possible they could even create a new mascot/character and tell a story. Great thing is, with the sculpt tool, you can essentially create any main character, so they could create a well crafted series of stories too. A space story perhaps, possible!

Look at Minecraft success (how much MS paid for that) and Dreams taking that creation to a differnet level allowing to create anything(games, movies, music and art) you dream in a beautiful way instead of like those pixel boxes of minecraft.

GAMING is not about spending hours to pass/waste our time just for fun,

its a Feeling/Experience about a VIRTUAL WORLD we can never be in real, and realizing some of our dreams (also creating new ones).

So, Feel Emotions, Experience Adventure/Action, Challenge Game, Solve puzzles and Have fun.

PlayStation is about all-round "New experiences" using new IP's to provide great diversity for everyone.

Xbox is always about Online and Shooting.

Nintendo is always about Fun games and milking IP's.

I'm curious to see how long this game will be and the price point.

What do you mean how long it will be?

Lasting appeal makes more sense.
