Warhawk Hits 500,000 Ranked Players

Today's piece of inane trivia is brought to you by Warhawk, the little online game that could. Turns out that over the past week or so the game registered it's 500,000th ranked player (it's at 510,927 at time of writing). That's not the number of people who've bought and/or played the game, just those who played a game on a ranked server. When you consider the profile of the game and the install base of the PS3 (especially at the time it was released), those are some impressive numbers.

If Warhawk has sold ~500k that's be awesome for this game.

I hope it continues to flourish :) It's been my favorite online experience to date so far ^^ They deserve the success!

I reckon it would be close, but coming in under 500,000. I do regularly see used copies around. But at the same time all evidence on this would be anecdotal. We can't possibly know.

wow....VGC has it at only 400k sales....where's the other 100k (not to mention UNRANKEd players)?

VGC is unable to track sales of games on PSN, XBL or WiiWare, so the other 100k could be downloaded.

No one really knows.

 Well not completely.  As retail games of Warhawk allow you to instal the game under more then one PSN ID.  It's logical to assume at least a couple people have done that. 

Has it not released in Japan yet...?
