Describing Xbox One backwards compatibility as "emulation" is misleading when the engineers are doing some clear modifications to the game binaries ...

Unless Nintendo can go on a hiring spree to get at least 200 more engineers or license a beefy CPU from Intel (they are quite pricey for a console) you can't be certain there will be backwards compatibility providing their new platform is technically different from it's last one ...

If they're willing to go this far I think that emulating BC will be in the future. I just doubt that Nintendo will give up BC especially if a fusion idea is happening. The DeNA account system will tell us a lot about the future. Hopefully Cross Buy happens and it is announced for NX as well.

Why on earth would Nintendo need to emulate Android and what exactly would Nintendo gain from that ? Even if they do go through the trouble for emulating Android, how are you so certain that they can do the same for the WII U which is probably the higher performant system than an Android ? 

Lastly, what does your doubt have to do with their potential fusion idea ? You do realize that it's practically impossible to emulate the WII U with current mobile technology, right ?

If Nintendo wants the WiiU to be absored by NX, they would have to go for the Cell architecture for the NX
