I also told him to buy the UMD game alongside the ROM so as not to pirate. I tried the UMD games and they were extremely aggravating so I grabbed my buddy's hacked PSP (he also bought the games but downloaded the ROMs) and the difference was night and day. Load times were almost non-existant, the experience was much more fluid, and even the battery lasted longer.

Besides, there's nothing wrong with hacking the PSP. It's what you do with it after that point. I will never condone piracy but using hacks to improve the gaming experience is perfectly acceptable as long as you make sure to also buy whatever game you download.

^Hey, okay. Really, UMD is just fine for 95% of the games on the PSP. But boy-oh-boy does it suck for the GTA games.

If its the PSP slim what you got load times are faster so you should be allright .

Showing someone where to go to find such things, asking where they might be found, or linking them into the forum is against the rules. I simply mentioned that they existed.

The new PSP-Slim has fixed this. My copy of GTA:Vice City Stories takes 30 sec or so to start, but in-game the loading times are minimal. Lots of fun, with surprisingly good sound-track and characters. 

 

My own must-have list (i.e. have played them and can personally vouch for them):

 Well it only iritated me when I had to load the game again so I wont loose all my weapons :P
