Funny things about those bundle is that the Halo 5 bundle for $500 seems to be the most attractive one. Last year bundles and price were so much better than the bundles this year. I fear that Sony feels too comfortable and doesn't even bother going for a price cut.

So last two bundles announced are bound to be Fallout 3 + 4 bundle and I'm thinking Ultimate Halo bundle 1-5. I wouldn't be surprised if both are $399 1tb. It seems like they have been trying to get this price into the common mindset, so they can match Sonys reduced price, instead of having to go $50 lower again, at least till Black Friday anyway.

Xbox one hardware is probably being sold at loss at this point and any price cut or free $60 dolar game would only make things worse. And for what? wining a month in USA?

I dunno, man. I think this company is crazy enough to burn cash for a pyrrhic victory in the US. I think the shuffling of their financial reports is meant to obscure the losses they're taking with this division.

They should feel comfortable, because they do not need a price cut.Dropping the price around the release if U4 would have a much bigger impact and MS could not counter period unless they give the X1 away for free.Sony is in the driver's seat and winning the race so they set the terms, not MS.

Wait...Xbox, the brand in a perpetual pissing contest with Sony over who can have the more spectacular explosions, set pieces, and "serious" games is going after the family market? The brand with not a single family oriented franchise I can think of outside of a handful of Kinect games and maybe Project Spark? Oh and Viva Piñata. I mean...wow. That's the most desperate bundle I have *ever* seen. Who the heck is going to buy this? If you want something family oriented in a bundle, why not buy the new MK8 Wii U bundle? Why not buy a PS4 and get Tearaway and Little Big Planet; not much but it's something. That bundle is just a waste of shelf space and I doubt retailers will even put the thing on display; they'll just shove it in the back. And what's with the low effort box art? Nintendo knows the importance of box art. Sony knows the importance of box art. EVEN INDIE COMPANIES know the importance of box art. Just...wow. This is almost sad to watch.

Interesting part is, ever since the Kinect, Xbox has had the edge when it comes to sales of multiplat familt friendly games, and judging from NPD, that has carried over til this gen as well.

Well, that does play into the fact they have none of their own.  So if you are a parent and own an Xbox One and not anything else and you want to get your kids a game that doesn't involve dismemberment or other scenes of violence, third parties are all you've got.  On Playstation 4 and Wii U you have other, frankly superior options in the form of exclusives.  Which is probably why third parties rarely go big budget on family friendly (not even necessarily family oriented) games and do something like, say, a Mario Galaxy type of deal.  Because they know that the two platforms that appeal to families the most (which currently make up 72% of the global market) have strong exclusive offerings they would have to compete with, leaving them to bank on Xbox's family-oriented-game vacuum.

The bundle is good so they can have something family friendly. I expect a fallout and Halo bundle.

Welp we already know Sony has another victory so where is the October thread?
