Btw all this stuff about 60fps vs 30fps.
Yes 60fps looks more fluently, yet sense of speed is better and handling is more responsive in DC 30fps vs Project cars 60fps. A well made 30fps can be just as effective as brute force 60fps, sometimes even more effective as in DC vs Project cars. Racing is mostly about track memorization anyway, not reacting to sudden things appearing in 16ms time frames.

If you wanna prove racing games can still be fun at 30 fps, just point to Forza 2 Horizon. Its arguably the best racing game on the market.

But when it comes to these track racing games, I just prefer when 60 fps is a priority. People are fine with Driveclub being 30 fps but it would be unacceptable for Gran Turismo.

It's arguable indeed, as in I prefer track racers. Open world is more for check list racing, not real racing.
Gran Turismo will work fine at 30 fps, most people race in street cars, no need for 60 fps. The red bull x1 might be a bit tricky at 30fps, yet a honda civic, 30 fps is fine. But it would indeed be unacceptable in public opinion.
I prefer when sense of speed and responsive handling is a priority. Many racing games manage to screw that up regardless of 30 or 60fps.

There is indeed track racing in Forza Horizon 2 - but it also has more. It's up to you to decide to do only track racing in this game.

Do you preffer good rain effects on a game at 60 fps, or a wonderfull one but at 30fps on a 2015 racing game?

that answer is easy. the wheather effects driveclub has to offer with 30FPS. having actually PLAYED the game, i can tell that the wheather effects have a HUGE impact on gameplay, it effects your viewing of the track and handling of the car, which makes things much more harder. and it different each time due to the dynamic weather and day/night cycle. so yeah ill take that over 60fps any day.

I'm getting the impression you didn't play Forza Horizon 1 or 2.

When you get to an event, it basically is a track racer. Its a real racing game with real competitive gameplay.

No contest. DriveClub insurance by a landslide. lol

If your a true Sim Racing fan then the anwser would be easily no. But if you prefer the casual racing games then it doesnt hurt to go 30 frames. I love Forza Horizon 2 but after playing the demo of Forza 6, that slickly smooth framerate really makes it hard to go back. I was stunned at how good 60 frames feels on consoles. I am glad Turn 10 opted for 60 then 30. Graphics get old but a smooth gameplay doesnt.

I'm pretty sure you can be obstructed by weather at 60 fps as well.

Frankly, I don't think the weather is why that game is 30 fps.

Of course not. DC can't run at a stable 60 fps on PS4. Project Cars also has dips but they still went for 60 fps. Forza 6, if we infer performance from Forza 5, is a 60fps locked racer. Of course you have to make sacrifices to such a game in terms of graphics. I am still surprised how good Forza 6 looks, though.

No sense thread, Forza is better in every other aspects
