Forums - Gaming - Biggest Gaming Sin You've Committed (Games you haven't played)

I haven't played Red Dead Redemption... Apparently everyone thinks I should play it.

I haven't played any Metal Gear games, either...

Or Mass Effect

Or Half-Life

Oblivion since I did not have a PS3 when it was released, kingdom heart and final fantasy because I don't know why probably money. Heavy Rain but I plan on buy in Until Dawn. Pikmin because I simply can't enjoy it all that much.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

I wouldn't call not playing an important/influential game a sin because I can freely choose to not pick up any piece of entertainment I don't want to play or finish for whatever arbitrary reason.

Half Life: I only played about half of the first game but I'm not interested in finishing a series that ends with a cliffhanger without any news about the last chapter.

The first Dues Ex: it probably has a great story but I'm not interested in the gameplay.

I've played all Bioware games but I only finished Mass Effect 2&3. They know how to craft a great story, an OK game, but not a good RPG.

The Wind Walker: I'll rectify soon enough.

Final Fantasy anything.

Am I an evil human being for not playing any of the Souls games? I've heard many great things about them, but I've never really cared enough to actually play them.

I've only played one cod in the original black ops, even then simply because the notion of shooting Castro amused me, and one battlefield game in 3 because it was on ps+. Enjoyed both games about as much as expected, as in not at all. Don't touch mmorpgs, tried one of those free trials of wow for a week at a friend's behest and just wanted to kill myself, can't even begin to understand the appeal of those games.

As someone who's been playing c/w/RPGs for 25+ years, my time spent with Ultima games is really embarrassing.

Last year I had played some of the old tombraider games after playing the reboot.

I'd always had a negative opinion of the series after playing a little of tomb raider 1 when it first came out on pc and thinking the controls were terrible (which they were). I did have a few brief goes on later tombraider games but nothing to win me over.

In the past I've dismissed the series (even on this forum) stating that although it's important as an early example of third person 3d gaming they aren't good games. I now realise they are good games.

It's an example of how an early bad experience of a franchise can a lasting impact on your view if it. They offer the kind of exploration and puzzles you don't often get these days.

Anyway.. on with my remaining sins.

Haven't played most final fantasy games... Including more than 8 minutes of ff7 and ff8 both of which I have waiting for me on my steam account (With many other games like Valkyria Chronicles and Dishonoured). The ff games I've played were ok but didn't wow me.

I haven't play more than a few minutes of any metal gear solid game despite loving stealth games.

Never touched some PS exclusives like TLOU and Journey.

Never played ratchet and clank. But I've played the ratchet and clank psp spin off which was good.

Haven't played a witcher game yet but I've not been that into many open world games in recent years.

Not played a dark souls game yet.

Too many to mention, some of them are games I most definately would have enjoyed if I did try them though since they are right up my alley. But Full time studies, 60% work, 2 kids, a new house that needs a lot of love and other time consumin hobbies gives me little time to play. I wish I could play a lot more...

Once summer is over I have made a silent promise to myself though and at least start a new game that I have wanted to play for a long time each month. Starting out with Paper Mario on the Gamecube in October.

Other mentionables would be Ni No Kuni, Kingdom Hearts, Fire Emblem:Path of Radiance, Twilight Princess, (the whole DS/3DS library is unexplored to me) and I could honestly ramble on for some time. Saddest part is, I have a lot of these games at home :
