Avalanche Studios has confirmed that both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of their soon-to-launch Mad Max car-combat game will output in 1080p.

Also in the interview, Fuller discussed the size of Mad Max's in-game map. The developer said the map does not have "finite limits."

 

"Our tech can support enormous worlds but it is always a case of balancing the density of content and travel distances so that the player feels they are in a rich world," he explained.

The gap is reclosed. 

Well, Its weird because as games get more intense graphically, you see cases like Metal Gear where they can optomize but it can't overcome certain limitations at this point.  It will get more difficult as the generation progresses.  However, there is a way around this.  Simply target the Xbox One in your specs at 1080p and both will be 1080p.   This may annoy some folkss, but its a whole lot easier to target the Xbox One and then port to PS4 than vise versa.

OMG...AND? Resolution comparisons are getting so old! Resolution advantage or not, the PS4 version will always look noticeably better. DEAL WITH IT.

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m

I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.

Hahaha wow people like you make me laugh.  Like Tomb Raider at 900p 20-30 FPS while PS4 is  1080p 40-60 FPS.  Man you people will tell yourselves anything to make yourselves feel better!

And that's just after a couple of minutes of searching. Unity and Witcher are the only examples I can think of that frame rate is better. So it's clearly not Always.

So yeah PS4 pretty much always looks better and most of the time performs better.
