People have been committing rape and murder for millenia, I guess that makes it ok.

The hackers are scum. The company running the site is scum. The users of the site are scum. The only innocent victims are the families of the user scum. But they were already victims before the hack took place, many just were not aware of it.

I had a cousin and her husband who did this. They both agreed on to it and both got jealous. Things escalated and cops got involved and now they live seperate. It doesn't really hurt them that much I guess because they had stable jobs, but their kids lives are basiacly ruined.

This is one of the times where I don't feel the hackers deserve to be punished. I support hacking in a bunch of situations anyway.

Just because someone puts it out there does not make it public domain. Otherwise, movies and songs would be public domain too.

Nice of you to Robin Hood-ize the hackers but this isn't some corrupt government that they are hacking. They're not rendering any service to society.

I'd say you'd probably have to lock up 40% of the human race if we're talking infidelity. 

Our biological make-up is to want to breed. It's part of the reason we survived and you are here to be able to type on that keyboard ... because you certainly had in your past an ancestor that had an overwhelming need to stick his dick into something even in very dire circumstances probably (lol). The need to want to have sex is overpowering, and for the overall sake of the human race it's a good thing it is. 

Also for people who are so scared/insecure of being cheating on ... here's a protip ... stop being such a sh*tty partner if that's the case. Humans only stay engaged in relationships (even family) if they get more out of it than they're putting in, if you're not pulling your weight in a relationship or you're insecure or whatever ... don't expect a person not to wander. The only reason they won't is if they have no other viable options. And don't think just because you landed the girl/guy that it's a life time contract, even in marriage, you cannot just let yourself go and develop the personality/sex appeal of a cardboard box and expect the other person to be happy forever. 

If you needed a website hack to tell you you were in a failing relationship, you not only missed the boat of "relationship I.Q.", you got on the wrong boat entirely. Also if you married someone who turns out to be a serial cheater/sex addict type, you're going to tell me a straight face, there was no writing on the wall beforehand? If being cheated on is going to devastate you, maybe you should vet your damn life partner with a little more scrutiny before getting into a long term relationship with them? 

I've been through this already. People should absolutely face consequences for their actions.  If they've done anything wrong.  It's not up to you, me, or the hackers to determine that and hand out punishment.  Period. I'm sure every single person on the internet (and here in this thread) has a super squeaky clean record in every aspect of their lives, right?  Perfect individuals sitting behind their keyboards doling out their ideas of morality as if it's the final word.  Wasn't it stated in some old book something about "He who is without sin..."?

And let's not forget that not everyone who had an account on that site actually did anything wrong...

I suppose if your stupid enough to put your real name, picture, work email, pics, etc on a website of this nature you're stupid enough to be blackmailed.

So what about the wife who's worked through issues of infidelity with her husband, and he signed up for this site like 10 years ago, and now the wife and her kids have to suffer because this information is made public for everyone to see?

Did the hackers consider her feelings? Her kids? 

What about the guy/girl who signed up to this but never followed through? Do they deserve to have their public reputation ruined?

No, the hacker(s) likely are a bunch of wusses who couldn't keep their girlfriend from blowing some other dude because she was unhappy with Mr. Hacker being a wuss, so he got bitter and decided to target this website. 

Usually the people who are the most bitter about cheating are the ones (naturally) who have been cheated on themselves. I doubt these hackers considered people commiting suicide over this too, they were thinking about their own personal hurt most likely. 

But just because your relationship turned out shitty doesn't mean you have the right to turn the lives of thousands of families upside down to appease your vendetta of getting back at cheaters. Find a different girl and become a better fucking man, so she won't want to cheat on you and don't settle until you get someone who's worth what you bring to the table.
