What are transfer rates like these days, are cards fast enough?

Someone replied to me saying PS4 has like 27m and SD has a max of about 60m or something like that while SD can hold 64gb and PS4 50gb

That was just a quick random example. There are consumer level SSDs with read speeds of 500+ MBs. How far Nintendo is willing to go with these technologies depends on what they want to do and how much they want to invest. Whatever solution they use is probably going to be propietary, so they don't have to adhere to any industry standard.

They could use cards as a physical medium as has been speculated here ad nausem for like a year plus.

Or it could just be digital only ... but really I don't even mind. That would mean hopefully cheaper game prices since you're effectively paying about $20 more to get a physical game from the store.

Unless you live in a cave, most people have internet access of some kind these days.

It wouldn't mean cheaper games at launch. Nintendo has gone on record saying that it purposefully launches its digital prices at  premium because they think doing the opposite "devalues games."

Also no BC then since how can you play wiiU games without an optical disc? (Other than Digital that is)

It'll have digital BC. That's all it needs. All digital purchases will transfer, just like I've been saying for over a year.

Sucks for the people that bought physical tho unless they have a program that allows the physical discs to be converted into digital copies

If it's all digital, I'm done with Nintendo consoles.

Then you're done with Nintendo consoles.

This would suck a bit but they could use an external Optical Disk solution, like an USB Blue-Ray drive. Remember the GBA player for the Gamecube?

If the NX console uses a cartridge format, it is quite worrying. If the NX console plays the same games as the portable one, a la Vita TV, then it would mean Nintendo is almost leaving home consoles altogether.

Yeah, it does. But I highly doubt they'll have a solution like that. There's no way to make sure the disks aren't being used on multiple systems, meaning anyone who bought physical are likely left in the cold. But most people have at least a few digital games. As for me, all my games are digital, so I'm delighted right now.

Also, I'm disappointed on how not one post in this thread addresses how I FUCKING CALLED THIS. I called it being all digital. I said, literally two days ago that the handheld would 100% be all digital, and that I was 50/50 on the console. I said that if Nintendo had the balls, they'd go all digital. I also called it keeping two screens. I said a revamped, more standard looking gamepad would return. Guess what? NO ONE fucking believed me. Now people are suprised, though? You know who isn't surprised?

FUCKING ME.

Why is my avatar a Toxicroak? Clearly it should be an Alakazam, because I'm clearly phychic up in this bitch.

Eh? But there is a memory card slot? It could be cartridge based which is what it seems like and not "all digital"?

*shy voice* But we still don't know if it's digital only...
