actually, i'm planning a 2Ds or n3Ds XL, but I've went for n3Ds XL. This is a good option to send as gifts to your kids or nephews or nieces.

LoL, so now it's roughly the cost of the BoM of a 3DS in 2011, that's pretty amusing. Though, good on them for dropping the price.
This holiday could see a lot of good deals
2DS-$69.99 or $99.99 bundled with a new game.
3DS XL-$99.99, likely discontinued and trying to get rid of extra stock
New 3DS XL-$149.99, $199.99 for special edition bundles

Hope it gets to 80-70€ soon. I know a lot of people that want to play only Pokemon but a console only for one game is too expensive.
This thing flopped hard.

In retrospect, it's kinda similar to releasing the Gameboy 2 years after the Gameboy Color or releasing the Gameboy Advance 2 years after the Gameboy Advance SP. Inferior screen+less portable form factor made this an overall unappealing product for many despite the lower price tag.

Damn.... this just makes me think Americans need less lunch money :D
OT tho considering that Mario Kart 7 is still in the region of 40-50 dollars this means you're getting a 2ds for $50 which is an absolute bargain for the system.

The official price of Mario Kart 7 is $30 so it's like getting a 2DS for $70

The reason why 2DS doesn't work well in today's day and age is "budget shoppers" know it isn't a great deal even at a dirt cheap price.
Yes sure the hardware is cheap, but the games are still $30 a pop. People are not stupid, they know they can just give their kid and a hand me down older iPad or buy a new iPod Touch which might be more expensive upfront, but you as a parent down the line it's going to save you a lot more money.
Tablets have really cornered the market on the "I only buy my kids cheap portables" crowd.
The people who are interested in a Nintendo handheld nowadays are willing to pay more to get the better model.
