Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo 2DS Drops To $99 In North America - Thought it already was this price...

Huh, I thought it was 99 dollars already, but I guess that should be a very good enry price point for kids. 99 Dollars is something you can even get toghether with lunch money.

We will probably see a $70 price tag during the holidays.

Yay? Now will the wiiU ever get another price cut?

The see through Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire consoles were $99. The regular ones weren't.

Yup, these will definitely be discounted to around $70-$75 this holiday season.

Around the Network

as mentioned in the main Nintendo thread, i think it was $99.99 last year during black friday, and i believe there were other promos and the price were $79.99.

If NoA bundled it with Yokai Watch (maybe plus $30) then it could help sell Yokai to kids here in the US.

Wow, really cheap now... if this was on sale, it'd be down to $70!

So it's $99 with Mario Kart 7? Isn't that basically like $70 for the system already? How much cheaper can you get?

I still doubt this will create any meaningful long term bump for 3DS sales.

Is the 3D effect really that expensive? Hope they ditch it then next gen. It barely works and is so pointless.

Yeah, the 2DS was this price during Black Friday and in a few sales since. It's actually when I bought my 2DS. I'd been meaning to pick up a new system, had been wanting to get Mario Kart 7, and thought it was a good two birds with one stone scenario at around $100. Totally worth it too. The system is comfortable and I never used 3D on my previous 3DS system anyways. I know some people complained about the whole no clamshell design thing around the time the 2DS was announced and after, but considering clamshell design is an exception among handheld electronics and not a rule, I find the complaint to be pretty silly.
