Should be cheaper, the only reason to really buy one of those imo.

But I'm sceptical, it does seem a little weird with their whole BC push currently to bring out a system that would essentially eliminate your ability to play your old 360 games on X1 again.

If more and more people are opting to go digital, why not release a version just with that in mind?

Yeah, I believe everything here except the Xbox One rumor. That may very well be in development, but it certainly isn't launching in October or even in 2015.

And they're not going to announce it in October and kill their holiday sales

What makes me doubt about the X1 mini is the size they claim for that new version.

The BR drive doesn't take that much space, and the hard drive and the cooler for the APU (probably still produced at the same 28nm) will still take too much room to make it 2/3 smaller.
