Digitally backwards compatible...  I feel like that is an important clarification.

What does that mean?

It means that you can't use PSP game cartridges or cards whatever, but you can buy (most of) the PSP games on PS Store.

You can't put a PSP UMD into a Vita.  You can however download any PSP game digitally and have it work on the Vita

Maybe they're doing this to convince the people "boycotting" Konami to go buy it?

Regardless of what it gets, I'm picking it up day one. I loved Ground Zeroes.

I wish I liked Metal Gear Solid.
The game is absolutely gorgeous and I could stare at it for hours.

Xenoblade's aesthetic quality will keep me busy with that though.

Reviews more than a week ahead of release surely signal that developers expect a high metascore.
This also will give the undecideds enough time to preorder...

...can't wait for a 40 from an obscure website, though...

My bets are on Quater to Three

I'm not sure, I just know that I can buy Peace Walker on the PSP, which is the only MGS PSP game I've heard about.

So, uhhhh...that's exactly what I said. You just then mentioned Vita out of nowhere, and I don't know if that one has backwards compatibility. If it doesn't, then, like I said, HD version is the only saving grace or else people would be completely lost (unless you like to do tons of reading).

There's also Metal Gear Ac!d 1 and 2, and Portable Ops for PSP. Kojima hates the later, for some reason.

Maybe because its the one canonical game he didnt direct... well until Revengance but thats up for debate.

Hard to call it "canonical" when Peace Walker and Ground Zeroes tried to disprove and discredit it as much as they can.
