I've been hearing about Wiiware this whole time, and I still don't know what it even is!

Really? It is where anybody get's to make their own games as long as you buy the 2,000 dev kit. You download these games like VC. It's similar to XBlA and PSN downloads. Here is a list of games http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WiiWare_games .

 Just make sure you include some kind of boxart and info (Gamefaqs will help you a lot with this!).

WiiWare is the new downloadable game service for the Wii for non-classic VC games. So they'll actually have online multiplayer, leaderboards, etc. etc., and be built from the ground up for the Wii. It comes out in May with an exclusive Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles/Sim-City hybrid, and some online Dr. Mario, online Tetris, online Bomberman, and some puzzle games, some rad SHMUPS, and some Pokemanz Ranch game where you chill with your Miis and Pokemanz together and take photos and share them and whatnot.
