Exactly.  If anything, some of them helped make sure some controversies just went away.  The most notable being the fake demos MS were letting people play at conferences and on talk shows that were running on PCs with better specs than the XBO.  That was completely inexcusable, but the gaming media barely mentioned it.  You also had quite a few sites try to come out and say that resolution doesn't matter when the difference was 180-360 lines, but last gen they never gave Sony a pass when the difference on the PS3 was less than 100 lines.

I actually made the different threads a few years ago.  One was for Nintendo, one for Sony, and one for M$.  Apparently all three were underdogs that somehow overcame all of the hate and bias to become successful--at last least according to their fans.

I guess people liked being the triumphant victim that beat the odds.  Maybe we still do.

I was about to make a 2nd post talking about just this.  All the articles I have been seeing are talking about Sony's lackluster year of exclusives, while praising the XBOs, and that it could cause the XBO to start to catch up.  One problem.  To do that you HAVE to compare only the lineup for the last 2-3 months, which gives a complete pass to MS for ignoring most of the year.  It also ignores the smaller exclusives that can still sway people.  There's a reason the PS4 continues to obliterate the XBO WW, and its not that people love buying a console to play "NO GAMEZ!1"

Yes i have seen some biased against the xbone.

Any case, there is definite bias among certain mainstream communities. However, I like how BG's point is directed more towards the philosophy behind such arguments, rather than the argument itself -- he does have a point. On either side, bias and accusations of bias blurs the line between constructive discourse and just plain validation crusades.

Not in the slightest. Many sites have editors that are closet Xbox fans. I noticed there's a lot of rah-rahing for Xbox One again out there to the point where it almost sounds like advertorial on their sites. Too many people that think the media is biased aren't used to having an Xbox console being scrutinized under the spotlight for anything. The lesser sized fanbase tends to be the loudest though in any gen for sure. 

More american media are Xbox biased.

Nah not anymore. Only PS heavy sites like N4G are biased against xbox but that's nothing new.

I mean...I'm sure some are, but no more so than are biased against Sony or Nintendo.
