Forums - Microsoft - Phil Spencer: Scalebound, Crackdown, Quantum Break won't come to PC as of now (Halo MCC/5 suspiciously not mentioned)

lol . Seriously.

There isn't even PC versions of Crackdown 1 and Halo 3 from 2007.
Still no Forza Motorsport from 2005.
Still no Blue Dragon (2006)
Still no Rallisport Challange 2 (2004)

MS occasionally throws the PC a bone with a Fable Port or a F2P Halo (only available in Russia Tovarich) or a indie title....it will never, ever be "the good stuff"..and it's certainly no less then what Sony ports to PS3/Vita/Playstation TV.

Sheeeeeeettt. No eyebrows raised when Sony bringing God of War, Uncharted, Infamous, The Last of Us, Killzone, Puppeteer to Tablets and PC with PSNow, but MS released Gigantic on W10 and everyone loses their minds.

Ignoring that PSNow has been the source of plenty of similar debates, i think the drama is more focused on how titles like QB, Halo, Ryse, Fable, SB, etc are present gen exclusives, rather than titles that would otherwise (outside of remasters/remakes) be locked to a generation/platform that is quickly losing relevance.

OT: I don't think statements like "It’s not to say those games could never come to Windows" really mean much. It's about the same as saying "We have no plans to do [x], but i don't want to be accused of lying if we ever, for whatever reason, change our minds".

Right. I agree on the bolded. Plans change all the time, but speculating that every XBO exclusive will eventually end up on PC is a fools errand, since there's about as many examples to the contrary, it's not worth the discussion until its announced or at least rumored.

On the otherhand, you really never see this sentiment with PSNow, which is odd, because it has a lot of main entries (not spin-offs or digital only titles), the spec buy-in is lower (anything netflix ready) and ...well Sony didn't buy Gakai to stop at PS3 games and then nothing else for the rest of eternity. PS4 games will come eventually, there's no question of that. Only how long it will be until they show up.

Meaning games that don't sell well or games Microsoft believes won't sell well might come to pc. Phil said he doesn't want to bring every single exclusive. Gears 4 r halo 5 Will never be on pc. Keep dreaming and telling yourself otherwise if it makes you happy.

Ehy, if they bring all their exclusives except Halo and Gears I would be more than happy since I don't care about those two franchises.

If a game sells well then chance of a pc port is probably a no.

Again, there have been plenty of similar discussions about PSNow. They just happened to mostly concern games with little relevance to the present generation, and in the absence of any new fuel, the topic died out.

Exclusive PS4 titles will no doubt make their way to PSNow eventually, but with no reference point for when that might happen, it's another null-topic. If it ends up being after the start of the 9th gen, or if they simply wait very long periods of time before bringing individual titles over (i personally think it'll be a combination of the two, with PS4 multi-plats arriving a while before anything else) we end up back at the "little relevance to the present generation" point. That makes for a dull topic.

It's for that same reason that X1/PC topics have become less frequent, and often get less posts than they used to. Lacking a strong recent reference points for when (or if) we might see more X1 titles end up on the PC, it becomes a null-topic. It's certainly true that the X1/PC side of this discussion has been perpetuated longer than it should have been, but i think that can mostly be credited to how stuff like Ryse and DR3 were handled. They added an awful lot of fuel to the fire (versus a lack of any fuel with PSNow), and it's taken a while to settle down.

I am 100% sure that Crackdown will come to PC.
Other ones have chances too!

What is that idea that people will stop buying XB if it's on PC??? Besides kids and uber geeks nobody wants to game heavily on PC... I haven't felt like nerding on a gaming rig since I was 22 yo... Consoles are better for anybody with a family, a social life, and better things to do with their money...

The rest already has a PC and wouldn't have bought an XBox anyway... MS is right to support PC and I'm pretty sure most IP will be ported eventually..

And with win10 and dx12 it will be beneficial for MS for sure but most likely for XB too, they might be able to strike deals with 3rd parties for console exclusive with PC devs helping them out...
