Maybe something is wrong with me, but I've never watched a game stream ever. I don't just get it. I can understand watching movies, or a video where something is being talked about. But how does it make any sense that people sit and watch other people play games? I used to think that the main draw of gaming was that you play them yourself.

It may be, if we take a broad definition of prostitution but I don't think that twitch is actually another form of prostitution ( At least for 99% of the channels on twitch ).

Paying for porn isn't even prostitution, which seems more in line with your situation then comparing it to actual prostitution.

Male streamers are way more popular depending on the kind of game you are watching. Since I only watch and follow Hearthstone and Heroes of the Storm, the most popular streamers are predominantly male with a few exceptions and they have many subscribers and many donations.
