What do you think the lights on the Morpehus are for?

They're there so the camera can track your exact position in space. That's the reason the Dualshock has the lightbar too. Tearaway doesn't require the lightbar because it's just using the motion sensors in the Dualshock and doesn't require pinpoint accuracy.

I thought this was common knowledge. Clearly Sony needs to make it much clearer. In fact I think I was wrong when I said 'some' games require it. I think it's 'all' games require it.

I'd be interested to find out how you thought it would work? For instance, how would the game know you were looking behind you?

Yes, it needs the camera to track it at all times, otherwise it wouldn't have a point of reference and you'd have to be recalobrating the headset every 5 minutes.

If the Morpheus really depends on the camera I'm surprised Sony didn't push the camera harder.

One would think they'll include the camera in the Morpheus package.

I haven't got one myself but many people over at GAF (when they were talking about it) were more than happy with it.
