Forums - Sony - Can Sony make up for no GamesCom in the upcoming conferences?

Like I said, it doesn't matter. Sony doesn't have to do a thing. As a corporation their only goal is to sell units and generate profits. In this they are doing fine. As long as the other 2 don't cut into their market share or profit margins then why should they do anything? There's no reason for a price drop. Their profit margins are high. They worked out exclusive advertising deals. They money hatted some features. The desperate times of the early days of PS3 are far behind them and Sony is rolling in the money. If I were Sony all I'd do if I were asked about how I can make up for no gamescom I just point to TLG, Shenmue 3, FF7, and NMS and cash the checks.

No man skys and FF7 will more than likely be on xbox "console debut" and "first on playstation" just like cuphead and tomb raider. I want to see them invest into their own ips or lock down third party games like horizon and tlg (which we may or may not see).

What Microsoft showed at Gamescom didn't impress me much other than Quantum Break, but that's better than nothing. So I guess Sony needs to show one megaton exclusive to make up for having no Gamescom conference.

The loss of not having a gamescom press conference was actually much smaller than expected. People only talked about the Microsoft press conference and the few new announcements for one day. Sony had their huge booth and their developers did plenty of interviews at gamescom.

Sony's biggest concern right now is getting the worldwide press to visit their Paris Games Week press conference. That's not going to be easy.

Yes they will in paris and probably show quantic dreams new game and hopefully granturismo, there is als tokio gameshow and PSExperience

I disagree. It's really the conferences that make the shows, not the other way around. No way is the press going to miss out on a major conference from the largest video game platform holder in the world. The press will cover PGW because Sony is having a conference.

I'm sure they'll have plenty pf content. New gameplay of upcoming 2016 games. I predict that GT7 will officially be announced with trailer and launch window at the Paris Show, as racers are big in Europe.
