I dont even know why people are commenting here if they dont own the game/never played it. Thats ridiclous. They just want to downplay the game because they cant play it and they cant "accept" to miss out an amazing game/probl one of the best games this gen.

I dont have a xbox one, so i would never comment on a theard "Halo 5 is my game of the gen" and say "nah its not".

There are also people in this thread that have played Splatoon and not the other games and are downplaying them. It goes both ways, and the fact that this thread sparked such a lack of maturity is astounding to me because it's a rather simple question.

Tell me more then 5 people on this forum that played/own splatoon and dont like it/comment here its defintly not game of the gen.

 

I can tell you easily 10+ people that didnt own the game but said it.

Yes that works. I cant have an opinion about a game/movie/food or whatever if i never tested it. If i do, its blind hate, no opinion.

I have no xbox one. I didnt played Ryse:Son of Rome. So i would never tell people the game is bad. Doing this is ridiculous


You are associating a difference of opinion with blind hate.  The two are not synonyms.

 

Example: My game of the generation (so far) is Witcher 3.

 

From that statement, based on your responses so far to other opinions like mine, you are deciding that I must dislike Splatoon.  You then decide I dislike it because I must not have played it.  You then decide that because you assumed those two things my opinion is thus invalid.

See how that actually doesn't work?

Title also says it is a contender for game of the generation.  Which opens up the floor to the concept of what is a game of the generation.

That's not my point.

I'm not saying there are people that have played Splatoon and are downplaying it. I'm saying there are people that like Splatoon and, in defense of it, are downplaying other games. It's not right either way.

Nah i did not do this. But this thread is not "tell me your GOTG". This threads first word is "Splatoon".

So if you didnt played splatoon you cant say "no its not because i like witcher 3", but you could say "I played Witcher 3 and Splatoon and i liked Witcher 3 more, so I dont think Splatoon could be GOTG".

You cant comment on a topic "could game xyz be GOTG" if you never played it. Thats nonsense.

Bloodborne got outsold by Splatoon despite the fact that the Wii U userbase will be 8-10 times smaller when this gen is over.

Yeah, it's quite clear that Bloodborne isn't on the same level at all.

Sure you can.  You can have an informed opinion without experience.  You can look to general consensus, especially since that is usually what decides a GotG.

I don't need to go see the new Fantastic Four movie to know that it isn't winning the Academy Award for best picture.  I also don't need permission to go into a thread expressing the opinion that it deserves to and offer my own opinion that it doesn't.
