Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Do Wii U owners feel disappointed?

Absolutely adored the snes, N64 and Gamecube but then when the wii came out it was quite a few years before I bought one cheap and then most of the time I was still playing gamecube games at least at the beginning. I bought a wii u at release but I've never had the value out of it that I got from earlier Nintendo consoles. It's piss-poor hardware quite frankly and I'm not keen on the gamepad at all. Yes there are some great games that I've enjoyed but the overall package is not great. I wouldn't recommend it to most people only those who are real fans of Nintendo games like Mario and Zelda because there isn't a lot else. Some of the so called great wii u games like Bayonetta 2 seem utterly rubbish to me but then I didn't like the earlier Bayonetta game.

I won't be getting a NX until its built up a reasonable amount of must-have software and if that doesn't happen I doubt I'll get one at all I guess.

I'd love to see the NX as a reasonably powerful console with beautiful and ambitious Mario and Zelda games and Nintendo competing with Sony and Microsoft again across all game genres.

What about Lego City Undercover, W101, Pikmin 3, Donkey Kong Tropical Freze, Bayonetta 2, Yoshi Wolly World, Splatoon, Fatal Frame, Xenoblade X, Mario Kart, Smash Bros..

Zelda U seems like a beautiful and ambitious Zelda game.

Personally, Wii U is Nintendo console that I enjoy most after N64.

I'm more than happy with my Wii U. Still my most used home console (third to Vita and PC) but it offers something the other platforms don't. Particularly for local multiplayer.

I think it just depends of each gamer's expectations. If you bought the console for first party content, then you shouldn't be dissapointed because so far they have done a pretty good job though there still no new zelda around to complete the cycle. If you expected more than that, then some would be dissapointed.

Yep, no Zelda. Oh! and no Metroid, no 3D Mario Adventure, no Paper Mario and no Fire Emblem.

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

Nope.

But now I know what my next thread will be.

Gonna be honest, my favorite nintendo consoles of all time, are the Snes & Gamecube.
I dont feel like the Wii U is at the same level as those two.

More than Snes & Gamecube?

for me its like Snes>gamecube>Wii>Wiiu>n64.

I want to see Nintendo's next console be up to Snes/gamecube standards.

Why do I rate Gamecube so high?

Luigis mansion + super mario sunshine, 2 real 3D mario games.

Legend of Zelda The Twilight Princess, Legend of Zelda The Four Swords,  Zelda The wind waker.

Paper Mario -TTYD, 2 pokemon games, Skies of Arcadia,Mega Man X - Command Mission.

That and many more, GC had the games.

Luigi's Mansion is a real 3D Mario game, but 3D World isn't? 3D World has much larger 3D environments than Luigi's Mansion, so why is that real and 3D World isn't?

You needed a GBA amongst other things for The Four Swords (and it wasn't a very good game).

Nope, not at all.

I've gotten a lot of playtime out of the games they have released and think they are great titles. Sure, there could be more games like a new Metroid, but for what it has given, I've been pleased with my purchase.

But it has Pikmin, Star Fox, Splatoon, Mario Maker, which the previous generation did not have.

Well in SNES era I had Sega Mega Drive II, and I completely skipped GC because of PS2.

Almost every Nintendo Wii U game is very good, and some of them are best in whole franchises.
