They'd probably be using it more if the engine wasn't so problematic, I heard the engine still isn't finished.

The whole Luminous engine seems like nothing more than a failed bragging attempt anyway, "look how awesome an engine we can make"...great SE, now release a new actually good console game for once.

A lot of new Japanese games are being made on Unreal Engine, big names too. Street Fighter, Tekken, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts.

Maybe these companies have realised using an external engine and not wasting time and resources developing your own is actually beneficial.

To be fair SE have released a lot of good console games recently, just none with 'Final Fantasy' in the name

Yeah, I always forget that Square is more than its japanese development teams nowadays. :D

I guess Luminous starts and ends with FFXV. Wonder what's wrong with it. Funny when compared to Kojima's fox engine. That engine might have done a lot of good for Konami's future console/PC games (a toaster can run Ground Zeroes at medium settings).
