Ok, if a release date is already decided, why not tell us? Gamescom was the perfect place to do it. Unless they're waiting until TGS.

65% done eh? I'm looking forward to playing this with my 15 year old grandson. I'll just have to be sure to put a penny aside every day so that I might have enough money to buy it.
That frame-rate though; it was like watching somebody stumble through a flipbook. Or maybe that was my Pentium stuttering. There is a 50-50 chance that it was my Pentium stuttering.

After so many years only being at 65% is ridiculous. It's the final 35% that takes the longest I would think. So 2018 maybe?

Because by "release date" they really mean "release target window, which we will probably miss".

Wait! I've figured it out! They changed the name from VS XIII to FFXV because they decided that 15 years would be the development time. They did not want a mass riot at Gamescom so they did not tell them that the release date is actually June of 2021! A PS5 exclusive!
