Forums - Gaming - Lair vs Killzone 2 vs Banjo Kazooie 3

Yeah I guess. But I would still be VERY worried if we didn't hear anything about BK3 in those four months........

I hope BK 3 will be good I'm looking forward to it.

Im just scared thats all. I loved Banjo Kazooie and I really want the third game to be brilliant. And now there is this terrible, almost vapourware like silence surrounding it.

I wouldn't worry about it.  The game is in good hands.

Given the silence Sony has exhibited lately over Killzone 2 and the obvious parallel to the lead-up to Lair's release once Sony realized it sucked

^You keep saying this. Sony has ALWAYS been silent about KZ2. They showed a single trailer in 2005, then created a single demo for 2007. That's it.

Also, Factor 5 was releasing information on Lair left and right in the months before it's release. Just look at the videos on Gametrailers. Factor 5 was releasing videos about Lair on a monthly basis from April to July, 2007. The game released only a month and a half later, in September.

You're entire comparison is based on faulty information.

Of course, I'm not saying that KZ2 won't turn out like Lair. Though I do hope that it doesn't. Actually, it would be hard for any high production game to flop like Lair.

OT: Out of the three, I think that Banjo has the highest likelihood of succeeding. It will be at least AA, if not AAA. Sure, Rare splintered just before they were bought by MS, but the Banjo team is relatively intact, ensuring that it should turn out well. However, I think it will be delayed until 2009.

As for Killzone 2, I have a feeling the game will be AA. AAA is unlikely, though I'd be quite pleased if it happened. Given the budget, help from Sony's other developers, etc., I think that the game could score a whole point above the original, thus making it AA.

I agree with the possible delay of BK3 makingmusic, but there is one thing to remember about Sony's attitude to Lair. E3! At last years E3, a game that had been almost constantly shown off was a non-event. Hardly any Sony execs mentioned it when doing their traditional run off of coming hit-titles.

I never expected KZ2 to be that good. The first one kinda sucked.
BK3, well if it does half of what the first game did it'll be the 2nd best platformer this gen.(Behind Galaxy)
And Lair, well it sucked.

It was mentioned at E3 no less than Warhawk and Heavenly Sword. And that still doesn't compare to Killzone 2's history.

Banjo is on my radar. I have never played a Banjo game before but it looks nice. I just hope it is not a game that only 3 year olds will be able to enjoy.

Thats not my worry, if it is good it will be good for everyone.  If you like platformers the Banjo series is for you. Its excellent for young AND old gamers.
