I don't see what "special detection software" they could have. Generally with P2P(Torrents, Limewire, etc) you have to actually be engaged in the download to see the IP addresses of the people downloading the software itself, right? So in turn, the companies engaging in hunting down these people are doing the illegal act of engaging in the download just to see the people that are downloading the software.

But to me, this sets up a dangerous  example of what could possibly be used in the future against  what's essentially human right.

 

Also, an ISP company's ability to ban users base on the usage of filesharing (most likely they didn't even need to prove if you shared anything that is considered 'illegal') scares me.

 

Also, nobody is fighting, it's a very sensible debate.

 Also, this is JUST like what MPAA does, they don't even bother proving you did  it, they will sue you for ridiculous amount of money regardless.

The irony is that ISP's wouldn't have most of their customers if it weren't for P2P.

This is by far the easiest transition for Japan being as there are very few people that pirate.

It won't, once this fails in those countries it won't spread.


In France it's already in planning stages, with the support of the french President. And in UK the industries are trying to push the same measure.

hmmmm this is bad news first torrent spy won't work , then demonoid, now this ahhh! Oh well shut one way down 10 more appears ......ftp, torrents, irc, they can't shut it all down ! The ppl have the rights to share !

why? There needs to exist some sort of policing in the internet or else people will keep stealing. Who cares about privacy in the internet?! a person would only be afraid if he's a pirate.

 Hey got to start somewhere right? and the UK is also good, france IDK. They are clean to from what I have heard. Strange. I had just propossed to put a stop to this type of stuff in the same way. Makes you think, maybe anti-pirates have something coming to them.
