People have been asking for a REMAKE when they apparently meant REMASTER

A remaster is a port of the original game. Running on new hardware. And using the new hardware to clean it up. A remake is remaking the game with modern system. But doesn't mean change things as they please. Then it's really a reimagining. The only element that would be a remake is the script. Everythign else is reimagined.

Remaking a game is bringing it into the modern era and trying to also modernize it for current audiences, that's the same for movies as well as games, that can very much entail gameplay changes. Never has remake ment just giving people the exact same game with new graphics and SE has been pretty upfront with that not being the plan for the FF7 Remake either.

The battle system for FF7 isn't bad. That's the thing. It's not like say Metal Gear Solid 2's controls. Those were really badly setup. The same thing will be argued if RE2's remake is done. And all it is, by story. The rest is done in RE4-6 style. That's not a remake to me anymore. That's a reimagining.

whats wrong with the combat in 15? hope you aren't one of those YouTube gamers that seem to forget that gaming is about first hand experience.

The battle system in FF7 is outdated, I've beaten the game like 4 or 5 times and I still love it but I don't see how people are like the actual battle system in FFVII was anything but by the books.

If this has combat similar to 15 I will pick this up for the first time and see what the fuss is about. Most definitely!

"To me" is always a cop out, similar to "my opinion" where you know you could be wrong but want to give yourself a window to not be.

A reimaging is like DmC or New Tomb Raider. Games that recycle major stables but are free from being tied to orginal. FF7 is not taking that path.

As long as it good, tactical, cinematic, lets me change characters on the fly and encourage active skill selection, I'm good :)

Ideally I'd like to see them bring turn based combat into the 21 centuary. Everyone who wanted a carbon copy can stay Mad :P

What I don't want is a single character driven action game ala FFXV. I mean lets remind ourselfs that it wasn't supposed to be a mainline FF due to its deviations combat wise. As one of the most cherished titles it'll be a bit reckless to do the same with FF VII R which is only being made due to FAN demand. It should pay repsect to the franchises history and everything that has and hasn't worked in the past.

It's shit.

Accurate description.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

I bet my soul it'll be tranformed into an action RPG, specially with Nomura on it. And I like this idea. But I'm sure fans will be mostly upset and shit on the game, even if it's good. :P

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Well, it seems Square Enix won't get my money for this game.
