It would have sold around 800K-1M by now if it wasn't free. That's good, but not nearly as amazing as some of you guys are claiming this to be.

It's a completely new game that released on PS+ (that doesn't happen often, I hear people complain about the PS+ game selection all the time), it's an addicting online multiplayer game (so you already need a PS+ subscription to play the game anyway) and it had a good word of mouth (you don't need much to convince people when you say it's free).
Using the 5 million downloads as an argument as to why it's a great game is silly. Plenty of great games out there that bombed anyway. But hey, if you want to use "sales" as an indication of quality be my guest...
