That card is way too much for my needs, I think the 960 you recommanded would be better for me

If that card is way too much for your needs what are you going to do with your CPU? Because if anything is way over your needs, it's that one.

what do you recommand as a cheaper cpu?

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

I want to be able to watch 1080p porn while playing 3dsexvilla 2 at 1080p, I need a strong cpu that will still be strong few years from now so I don't get any slowdowns, I intend to keep that lifestyle for a while.

You know that there's 4K porn out there, don't you? ;)

I'm not there yet, maybe some day

So I beefed up the gpu should I get a cheaper cpu? I just want to be able to game and still have firefox open without it affecting my performance

I don't get it, is there some sort of currency conversion going on, maybe difference in taxes, or do they just jack up the prices in Canada, because comparing these

I don't see why there would be a difference.

Wait get this gpu instead:

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487088&AID=10657534&PID=3938566&SID=&nm_mc=AFC-C8JunctionCA&cm_mmc=AFC-C8JunctionCA-_-na-_-na-_-na&utm_medium=affiliates&utm_source=afc-%zn

It has a better cooler and better clock speed and its quieter and it costs the same cause of the sale (Unless you are planning on ordering it after the sale)

The Cad sucks so with google's currency exchange, the $337 USD would translate to $436 cad and the banks don't follow google's currency exchange so really, it will be a lot more like $450+ Cad

I'd wait a bit longer before building a new PC. Intel is about to release their next generation processer "Skylake" in the upcoming month.

November is still quite a while away, so you might as well wait it out to build a PC thats more 'future proof', rather than going with a platform thats soon to be EOL.

As long as it's an i5 you're good. CPUs haven't been improving that much in last 5 years. More important is SSD, I recommend 120GB or 256GB Crucial MX100 or MX200 for Windows, programs and a few games that you will be playing the most.

Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.

BTW, if you've decided to go with 970, I would recommend Gigabyte G1 due to excellent cooling (I admit, I'm not very fond of EVGA):

As general advice, check Guru3D for specific models of cards, if I'm not wrong they're only one of major sites that have 'Thermal Imaging Measurements' of cards in addition to usual 'Temperature'.

currency rate or dollar is worth 0.75$ US and the Meuricans have a bigger market so their buying power is stronger so they get cheapper prices on pretty much everything, it's like walmart buying in bulk getting a better price per item vs a mom and pop shop thant can't afford to buy huge quatities of the same thing
