If you go with i5 4690 you won't be able to overclock it. So no point in spending that much money on mobo you aren't going to take advantage of anyways. |
alright that's 20$ saved on the card and 40$+ on the mobo thx, I'll consider those options
Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.
So I quickly made one and tell me what you think: (I changed a few things but you get a 970 which is kickass for gaming)

That card is way too much for my needs, I think the 960 you recommanded would be better for me

But you will get significantly better performance from a 970 and it only costs like $23.93 more than your build. I would really urge you to consider a 970 over a 960!

Many newer PC games are being ported over from console (PS4/Xbox One) where video RAM usage is well above 2GB. A GTX 970 isn't overkill. I would recommend looking for a cheaper 970 rather than a 960.
I want to make a slight little adjustment to my build. I suggest this 970:

Instead of the one I posted cause this one comes with that MGSVPP free promo deal and the price should still be the same once you added it up yourself
