Please remember my helpful tip:

Step 1: Buy 3 copies of some crappy game.

Step 2: Keep those games in their wrapping, and keep your receipt.

Step3: As the games you actually want come back in stock, return with your receipt and exchange the games you've purchased for the games you actually want.

You have 45 days -- well through the New Year -- to exchange these games. However, you CANNOT use this technique to buy games that have not currently been released, e.g. NiGHTS. Anything that's currently released but not in stock can be exchanged for at a later date.

Will that work if I buy online too? Can I buy online and return/exchange in a store? The actual stores are like 40 minutes out of my way on the way home tonight. ;>

Having worked at a TRU 6-7 years ago you'd think I would know these things. :p

I'm 95 percent sure the answer is yes. You can definitely return items from the online store to a retail location, but perhaps there is an issue with sale items.

Again, very unlikely, but I suppose it's technically possible.

not sold out of Zack & Wiki Bod? You should be recommending that game to everyone who buys a Wii! Do your bit =D

I finally grabbed Zack & Wiki yesterday using the TRU sale in my area.  The Wii software section was smaller than it should have been, and it was decimated.  There was nothing left.  Z&W was available, MoH2 was available, and they had a bunch of other games.

On top of that, we grabbed a DS-lite with Elite Beat Agents.  Lordy!  Nintendo is getting a lot of my monies.  Now I don't have to worry about whether or not we'll get a 360, because we have so many game we don't konw what to do with them all or which ones to play.  It's seriously insane.   I guess I'll be getting Phantom Hourglass for Christmas, and I think she will be getting New Super Mario Brothers.  Or perhaps Yoshi Touch & Go.

We ran through quite a bit of Zack & Wiki last night.  The "ring bell to keep beat for the turntable" parts of the game are obnoxious.  Otherwise, it looks like a good game.  I imagine it will have to only get better since it's getting 9.0/10 reviews (just starting out, I wouldn't have given it a 9/10 so far). We'll see -- i still have high hopes for the game, and it's certainly worth my time at any rate.

But we have so many games that Mario Galaxy is just sitting around with ~8 stars gathered and no more progress being made.

Ok so I finally placed an order online. They seem to have fixed the bug that allowed you to use pre-orders to qualify for the deal 'cause they weren't working when I tried to put Trauma Center in (which releases the day after the sale ends, heh). Also most games are either "Not Available Online" or backordered, and while I could put the backordered games in my shopping cart they wouldn't count for the deal either. So I just got 3 random games and will hopefully be able to exchange them at a later date!

Worked again today!

After a few days of a sudden PS3 surge, today was for the 360: I sold two elites and a premium. Just as with the PS3, it has to be the first time I've sold 3 360s in a single day in  the last 6 months, save perhaps the day Halo 3 launched.

Uncharted is really selling well at my store: we're already out, and we had 10 copies. PS3 interest is still very much on the increase (I just talked about the 360 surge since it happened today).

My Wii section is decimated. And I use that word (almost) literally: we carry around 90 Wii titles, and we had 21 of them in when I left today. Let me repeat that: I am sold out of around 69/90 Wii titles right now.

Friday is black friday.

Software? Yes, every day. It's still sold out.

I got 8 copies of Mario Party and 4 copies of Mario Strikers Charged, 12 copies of zelda and 20 of Metroid today; within an hour, when I left, we were out of Mario Party and Strikers again, down to 6 copies of Zelda, and 15 Metroid.

Not especially. Premium is still number 1 by a mile, with Elite and Arcade about equally popular. That's an improvement over the core, but practically everything is more popular than the core was.
