Bodhesatva, just thanks for the constant updates! Keep it up! You official my most liked cat :o)

Bod has you fooled. The avatar only looks like a cat cause of how small it is.

In actuality, it is a ferocious Liger! Look at those eyes, sharp and slanted. A furrowed brow beneath layers of thick blood-stained fur. A wide mouth full of glistening teeth and a waiting tongue, desperate for the blood of innocents.

Here is a close up pic.

Be warned. You will be frightened.

It was absolute chaos.

We got 118 Wiis to sell this morning, and all of these Wiis were sold immediately. I am not entirely sure if all of these were "tagged" by the time we opened (meaning, someone was already there just waiting to check out) or if it was 10-15 minutes after we opened, but regardless, by the time we had checked the first 110 people out, the last 8 were already called for.

The games were just as bad: it's easier to list what games I have left than to list what games I don't. Many of the people buying systems bought 6-9 games. Many people came in after them to buy more. I'm out of all these games, for sure:

Super Mario Galaxy
Guitar Hero III
Dance Dance Revolution
Zelda:TP
Metroid Prime
Need for Speed: Pro Street
Battalion Wars
Medal of Honor: Heroes 2
Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles
Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games
Smarty Pants
Rayman: Raving Rabbids 2
Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga
Naruto: Clash of the Ninja Revolution
MySims
Sims 2: Castaway
EA Playground
Carnival Games
MLB Power Pros
Mario Strikers Charged

I'm probably missing some, but we had some of each of these and sold out of all of those, just today, before 5 PM. I hope that gives you an idea of what happened at my store this morning.

I'm going to make a separate post for the 360/PS3 today, because there is good news for them too.

Bod, thanks a lot for your update, I was looking forward to it!

I wonder if you can tell us your hunch on why supply increased so much - did Toys R Us stockpile consoles for this promotion, or do you think Nintendo is increasing supply to Toys R Us, or even to all shops?

I am asking this because of an interesting discussion that we're having at this thread:

Okay, I've finally gotten a full understanding of what the Halo 3 deal is, and it's not as good as I thought.

It's eligible only to those who own an original Xbox that they can register online. It's an incentive to get people to upgrade to the new system if you haven't already. You can register your Xbox on Xbox live, THEN register your shiny new Xbox360, then enter a promotional code, then your address... and then you can have the game.

So yeah, it's a long process, and I doubt most people will take advantage of it after all. But still, that deal is there, if you have an original Xbox.

I sold another PS3 (40 Gig) and a 360 (Elite) today. So that's 3 PS3s this weekend alone, after months where 1-3 a week was good.

Tough call, I can't answer with certainty. It's a gigantic increase in supply, and I strongly doubt that such a large increase can be attributed entirely to TRU holding sales back. That's no more than an educated guess, however.

That doesn't sound like much of a "deal".  Why can't they just use the KISS philosophy?  They could probably move quite a bit of hardware if they kept this deal going throughout the holidays as it was original thought to be.

To Each Man, Responsibility

Yeah, it sounds insane. :P

I hope you get a significant amount of new stock in - sounds like you don't have anything left.

118 Wii, 3 PS3, 1 360

This weeks sales charts are going to be UGLY. Damn Nintendo for not providing enough software stock either (they need huge semitrailers, filled with games prowling the streets :>).
