Forums - Politics Discussion - What would make you leave your country forever?

I can't see myself leaving the U.S., I love it despite its flaws and there seems to be something fundamentally wrong about staying whole you like it and abandoning your country when it no longer suits you.

I've never been the kind of person who says he'd jump ship if some candidate or another became president, but Trump would certainly make me seriously embarrassed lol

If Trump would be president, the whole world would keep a close watch on his antics.

Hilary Clinton winning in 2016, though I'd need the money to move first xD

Who's your preffered candidate for the elections?

Anybody other than Hilary? lol

Honestly I haven't chosen which candidate I'll back yet, I'll need to do more research and watch a few of the debates first.

^^ Look at what bridge you'd want to cross before you start burning one. As a European, I'd support Bernie Sanders.

The thing is he wouldn't care that the whole world is watching him, and that's what bothers me most. He has the tact and grace of a boozed up rhinoceros.

Socialised healthcare does work a lot better then private healthcare though

That wasn't my point. My point was that people shouldn't find it "funny" or (in your case) "terrifying" that somebody holds different views to you.

People who don't support socialised healthcare are not being selfish or greedy, for the most part. People who are opposed to socialist healthcare do so because they believe that free market healthcare will serve the needs of humanity far better than socialised healthcare does.

Of course you can hold your opinion. But it's my opinion free market healthcare doesn't work and has consistantly shown not to work and socialized healthcare is really to only way to organize healthcare.

I already would leave if I had a shitload of money. Germany isn't that great. Bureaucracy is batshit crazy and the weather also sucks most of the time. On top of that, many people here are assholes. They are constantly complaining about something, you can never make it right to them. It's really getting on my nerves. So just give me a million Euros or something and I am off to Jamaica in no time!

Ironic in a post full of complains about something (bureaucracy, weather, other people, money...)

Complainception! ;)

Yeah, I'm German after all, what can I do? =D

Probably best if he doesn't become president. I can see him anger Russia and China on top of Mexico in short order.

Cool. I didn't ask for your opinion, though. I knew what your opinion was. You made that apparent when you thought that people who had views like mine were "terrifying".

I wouldn't want to walk down that road, though. Not only have I debated the healthcare topic a million times in the past, as well as reading countless books and studies on the matter, studying healthcare systems all across the globe and throughout history; but I've had personal experience of the brutality of the model in the UK.
