Forums - Politics Discussion - What would make you leave your country forever?

I already did

Originally from the UK. I left because of things like taxes, socialised healthcare, regulations, welfare, lack of gun rights, diminishing free speech, etc.

Currently living in Hong Kong, though it's temporary - I'm hoping to make a more-permanent move to the USA as soon as I can. Other places that I would consider include New Zealand and Canada, or Singapore.

It takes a lot of courage to do that. Congrats.

I'm not a fan of the US, level of freedom too low for my taste, but hey, when I look at your list of grievances, it might fit you well

But Canada is literally better at everything, so...

What do you mean with "socialized healthcare"?

Sharia law or any religious ideology getting too powerfull. I'm from denmark :)

Already happened.

Reasons:

The country has one of the most corrupt goverments.

Innocent people lived with the risk of being shot in the streets.

People were being beheaded, cut in half, or left hanged from bridges  (Specific to the city I lived in though)

Care to guess the country? :)

I personally am grateful that it happened, the U.S is such a great country in which we as individuals choose the way in which we live.I came here 6 years ago as an illegal immigrant, but worked hard and smart to learn the language and get used to the way the country works, after much studiyng I realized how easy it is to make money in the necessity/luxury-goods market and never looked back. Now I am a permanent resident, owner of multiple small businesses and co-owner of a succesful startup, waiting for the day until I can finally become a citizen of this fine country.

The only thing that would make leave this country is if it showed strong signs of adopting fascism.

When the Australian gov bans the riding of kangaroos

Career opportunities. I don't dislike my country but I would never reject a chance to work outside. I just need to improve my english and find an opportunity. It would be sad to leave family and friends but it's something I would do...

What the hell I am talking about? I need to stop dreaming while I'm awake, damnit!

Same here. In fact, I'm pretty dead set on doing it in the next few years. But I will return one day. N oEnglish speaking country is good enough for me.

Don't underestimate yourself

Is riding kangaroos legally allowed?
